Dixie

 
Dixie came with our ranch, Wildwood Acres, when we purchased it.  Her owner said he couldn’t keep her, so we took her in.  She was about 3 1/2 at the time.  Her dam was reported to be a purebred Australian Shepherd; her sire is unknown.    Dixie helped raised Bulldog, Diesel, and always treated him as though he were her puppy.  She was super sweet, affectionate & submissive, and was a wonderful addition to our family.  Dixie passed in late summer of 2011 at about 14 1/2.  All who met this darling mixed breed loved her, and she is sorely missed.
